Property Scouting / Selection

We scout West Atherton for an ideal property and location, looking for:

Existing home deconstruction

If there is an existing structure on the property,  we'll engage a home deconstruction contractor to disassemble the home. Our goal is to reclaim as much usable raw material for reuse, which we then donate to a nonprofit charity.  It takes 3-4 weeks to fully deconstruct a home -- as opposed to a one-day demolition. For us, the time spent is worthwhile because it's the right thing to do.  

Design & Layout

Our design/layout stagetakes anywhere from 12-18 months. We work very closely with the architect to take advantage of every aspect of the property (sun trajectory, trees, street, best orientation, etc.) when designing the house.  More examples here. Devoting extra time to the activities in this phase ensures that we get the design just right, which makes all the difference when construction begins.
